The holidays are all about the food. Am I not correct? This was a big reason why my book club chose “A Trail Of Crumbs” by Kim Sunee as our December pick. The book is a lovely, poetic memoir about the author’s search for self & home using food as her anchor. Each of us brought a dish from the book to our meeting. It was a wonderful. international smorgasbord of tastes. We sampled our way through the chapters and had a lively discussion about love, life and happiness. A great way to share a book together.
Other books that are full of recipes and would lend themselves to this kind of experience are “The Sharper Your Knife, The Less You Cry” by Kathleen Flinn; “The Language of Baklava” by Diana Abu-Jaber; “Animal Vegetable, Miracle” by Barbara Kingsolver just to name a few. I would love to hear what your club has read and feasted on together. Write me.
