The “Devil” is H.H. Holmes, America’s first serial killer. And the “White City” is Chicago’s world fair exposition in 1893. Fascinating! A page turner.

I loved this book as well. Erik Larson is a master at making non fiction read like a fast paced crime thriller. Male readers will love this as well. Lots of history.
This is 5 stars for sure. Anxious to read the new one about Galveston, but I have to say I did not like his book about the telegraph, can’t remember the name, didn’t even finish it.

This is a fascinating read, combining gruesome multiple murders with the history of the Chicago Worlds Fair. All true. If you are interested in architecture or history, you’d enjoy this, even with out the super creepy murders. 5 stars
