Creepy Swedish Plots Make For Great Reads & TV

Fans of Swedish author Henning Mankell are in for a treat.  On May 10th, PBS will begin airing the Wallander series which first aired on BBC One last November and December.  Each three 90 minute episode is based on one of the ten police mysteries that make up the Wallander series.   The series was produced by Mankell’s own production company Yellow Bird and stars Kenneth Branagh as inspector Kurt Wallander.  Watch the trailer and get ready to be creeped out  or better yet, buy Sidetracked (#5 in the series and the first episode to air) and get creeped out now!

    I have read several of Henning Mankell’s vivid mysteries and always look forward to being transported to southern Sweden and being totally involved in the process of solving yet another murder. The character’s are memorable and their lives continue to unfold in each book so they seem like family. I look forward to seeing the PBS series.
