Are you looking for an end of summer bookish project or a literary fashionista pining away for one of those cute book clutches ala Olympia Le-Tan or Kate Spade? Then this DIY project is for you. Courtesy of See Kate Sew, the directions look fairly easy. The hardest part is apparently finding the right size purse [...]

While I recover from jet lag, I will let the following picture speak for itself. “Books are reused to create this enormous piece of library furniture at TU Delft architecture bibliotheek. Because the books are stacked rather than dismantled, this desk is true to its origins as well as its function.” Source: Boing Boing

This cleaver DYI project caught my attention. A far cry from the spray painted apple crate end tables that decorated my first apartment. Thank you to Christina at Algonquin books blog for the heads up. For ‘book strap side table’ project details go to Design Sponge Online.

I found this wonderful mixed media collage sculpture at the La Quinta Arts Festival this past spring. It has been adorning my office ever since. Artist Kathy Ross uses maps and book pages to create her paper mache people which are part of her Travellers series. You can find out more about Kathy’s designs and [...]
