When is a book not a book? When it’s turned into an eco planter. This recycled book pot is the inspiration of Italy’s Gartenkultur.

Nature creates trees, humans, dominate on other species, it needs to impose itself, not with his art and his innate beauty, but with own intelligence. Where nature creates, man writes. Until today.
Gartenkultur reshapes the will of “victory over nature” in “victory of nature”. Gartenkultur is an object of furniture, a complement of art, a unique and unrepeatable. As each suit becomes plant or tree, so a book becomes vase and cradle.

An idea that takes and old copy of “A Tree Grows In Brooklyn” to a whole new beautiful level, don’t you agree?

Love this. London’s Royal College of Art’s acclaimed Design Products department along with the Great Eastern Hotel designed installations that invited guests to take part in an experience where a hotel is more than just a place for the night. Part of that project was Tiago da Fonseca’s Bedtime Stories.

I found this wonderful mixed media collage sculpture at the La Quinta Arts Festival this past spring. It has been adorning my office ever since. Artist Kathy Ross uses maps and book pages to create her paper mache people which are part of her Travellers series.
